The historic Spa Town of Buxton is famous for its therapeutic waters, Magnificent Georgian buildings, spectacular Peak District scenery and above all a warm welcome.

The town has attracted curious visitors since the 16th century when Mary Queen of Scots was interned in the residence of the Earl of Shrewsbury, Now the Old Hall hotel in Buxton.

Early travellers followed a route guide known as the' Wonders of the Peak' published in 1636 taking in the first wonder of Poole's Cavern along the way.
